DESCRIPTION
The mission of the higher education and science system is to provide the highest quality education and scientific activities, shape civic attitudes, as well as participate in social development and the creation of an economy based on innovation. These goals are pursued by the University of Social and Media Culture in Toruń (AKSiM). It educates its graduates, equipping them with reliable qualifications in the field of knowledge, skills and social competences, and also shapes attitudes in accordance with the Christian value system, which is referred to in the preamble of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of 1997 and which is included in the mission of the University. In this way, AKSiM graduates are prepared to act for the common good of man, the state and the international community.

RECIPIENTS OF STUDIES
The integrated Master’s degree program in Law is primarily addressed to secondary school graduates who are interested in acquiring knowledge and skills that will help them find attractive employment in the legal sector, including public administration, state-owned enterprises, private companies, law firms, and similar institutions. Preferred candidates are those with an interest in the field of social sciences, particularly legal studies. Applicants are expected to demonstrate an interest in key socio-economic processes, the functioning of governmental and local administration units, as well as private sector companies. A candidate should recognize the importance of lifelong learning and knowledge development, be able to set priorities conducive to achieving specific goals and tasks, and act in an entrepreneurial manner, in compliance with the law and ethical standards. Prospective students are also expected to possess basic teamwork skills and the ability to seek information from various sources.
STUDY PROGRAM
The program is carried out over 10 semesters. During their studies, students take compulsory courses, a general university course, classes in the humanities, and elective courses—according to the curriculum—within 11 thematic blocks (modules). As part of each thematic block (module), students participate in foreign-language conversation classes. In semesters 1–4, students attend foreign language courses, and in the first year they also take physical education classes.
After semesters 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, and 10, students are required to complete professional internships, each lasting four weeks. These internships are carried out respectively: in a public administration body (after semester 2), in a law firm (after semesters 4 and 6), in a court (after semester 8), in a prosecutor’s office (after semester 9), and in an institution chosen by the student (after semester 10).
The program concludes with the defense of a Master’s thesis, which should demonstrate the application of theoretical legal knowledge in practice. Students prepare their thesis under the supervision of an advisor, who conducts a proseminar in the fourth year and a Master’s seminar in the fifth year.

The intended learning outcomes of the program enable graduates to acquire in-depth and broad knowledge across different branches of law, as well as general knowledge from other disciplines (e.g., sociology, economics, philosophy, history), which supports the practice of legal professions by providing a wider context for assessing political, social, and economic phenomena.
Graduates of the Law program possess knowledge and skills in Polish, international, and European Union law. They also have social competences that allow them to undertake various professional tasks and roles in a professional and ethical manner. In particular, they have an advanced understanding of sources of law, as well as lawmaking and law enforcement processes. They are able to draft, interpret, and apply legal provisions, as well as prepare documents and statements containing analyses and interpretations of specific legal issues. They are capable of drafting normative acts, procedural documents, and decisions within the framework of proceedings before public authorities and courts. They are able to design and produce written work and presentations in both Polish and a foreign language.
When solving specific legal problems, graduates can connect their knowledge of public and private law with economic and social phenomena occurring in Poland and worldwide. A graduate of the Law program is able to draft, interpret, and apply legal provisions. They can use English in legal work related to lawmaking and law enforcement at the B2+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). A graduate of the Law program can objectively assess their own competences in terms of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. They are prepared to correctly identify and resolve dilemmas related to the practice of legal professions, taking into account the necessity of adhering to ethical and legal norms.
They possess teamwork skills, the ability to collaborate, and to take on various roles within a group. They are prepared to set priorities in specific legal actions, combining legal practice with entrepreneurship. They are also able to participate in the preparation and implementation of social, economic, and civic projects, taking into account economic, legal, and political aspects.
